Global companies seeking to expand
their business base in the United States
are taking a closer look at the Inland
Empire. Sheer geography creates a short
link to the Port of Los Angeles, known
as “America’s Port” because it moves
more containers than any other port in
the nation. The region’s close proximity
to Los Angeles International Airport
and the Southern California freeway
network contributes to this growing
interest. There’s also Riverside County’s
strong support and development of
global manufacturing incubators,

Expansion in the United States
immigrant visa investor programs,
and international investment.
You’ll also see global trade at the
forefront in academia, through the
Institute for Research on World Systems
based at the University of California,
Riverside. This think tank organizes
collaborative research on social change
and its effects around the globe.
The perceived challenges for overseas
business expansion in the United
States are diminishing as these and
other resources for business continue
to spawn in Riverside County. Among
its other strengths are a vast selection
of industrial real estate, transportation
access, and affordable housing.
Iffel International, a global marketing and
logistics company, relies upon Riverside
County’s invaluable global business-
friendly climate to direct client needs
such as storage and manufacturing
space and support with logistical issues.
As an example, a New Zealand tannery
manufacturing facility that produces
high-end sheepskin rugs, baby care and
bedding products sought our assistance
to penetrate the U.S. market. Recently,
we were able to develop ecommerce
(
selling on the internet), solutions that
added more focus to their sales, opened
doors to multi-chain vendors, and
implemented efficiencies to the existing
warehouse and distribution model.
Working within a network that includes
the Riverside County Commissioner
of Foreign Trade accelerates the entire
process for the client, and sometimes
puts us all just one phone call away
from the solution to a problem.
