from the factory, which is especially
attractive to aircraft owners who are
on the fence about whether to buy new
equipment.
“It’s not a new airplane, but it is as
close as you are going to get without
buying a new airplane,” Zublin said.
“It’s a pretty attractive alternative.”
Before coming to French Valley Airport
in Murrieta, the company previously
was a tenant at Palomar Airport in
San Diego County. It landed at French
Valley Airport after working closely
with the Riverside County Economic
Development Agency.
“Our business was going so well that
we needed to have a home,” Zublin
said. “We are here for the long run.”
More recently, IKHANA has worked
closely with the county EDA’s Office of
Foreign Trade, which has helped the
company work with the Export-Import
Bank of the U.S., which offers invaluable
assistance to U.S. companies doing work
abroad.
Having an Office of Foreign Trade in
Riverside County “adds tremendous value
to the county and the companies that are
domiciled here,” Zublin said. “They are
knowledgeable people, and they can point
you in the right direction.”
Zublin encouraged other companies in
Riverside County that may be considering
stepping into the international market
to really do their homework before
moving forward. That means knowing
themarketplace and how your product,
perhaps with a few tweaks, might fit into
that marketplace.
“You have to translate it into something
they need over there,” Zublin said. “For
most companies, it’s very important that,
before you start getting into contractual
relationships, you get your feet under you
and really develop a knowledge of the
country where you are going to be doing
business.”
“To a large degree, this industry is
reputation-driven,” Zublin said. “At the
end of the day, it’s your reputation that
matters, and our phone generally does
not stop ringing.”
