issue of EXPORT Magazine!
Assemblyman Brian Nestande brings
our timely attention to Assembly Bill
2656 that will provide tax credits for
exporters and importers and help
preserve trade based Jobs. We are also
pleased to be able to bring you another
month of compelling news about
companies in Riverside County that are
exporting products internationally and
attracting foreign direct investment to
help grow their businesses and create
jobs.
Two Murrieta firms featured in this
issue– IKHANA Aircraft Services and
USA Continental Regional Center – offer
a good reminder of what businesses
in Riverside County can accomplish if
they look beyond our own borders for
business opportunities.
IKHANA Aircraft Services provides a
variety of aviation-related services for
clients around the world, including
many countries that may not be at
the tip of your tongue. The company
operates out of French Valley airport,
having moved to Riverside County
from the Palomar area of San Diego
County. They do everything from
rehabbing airplane wings to entire
planes, everything from enlarging plane
windows for use by tourists trying to
get a better look at the Grand Canyon
to reconfiguring planes for foreign
governments to use in special missions.
Either way, they have made the world
their marketplace, and they are thriving
as a result.
USA Continental Regional Center is an
excellent example of the work being
done in Riverside County to bring
foreign direct investment to the region,
which creates jobs and helps maintain
our local economy. The folks at USA
Continental are real pros at combining
the intricacies of foreign direct
investment with the business acumen
you find in top-shelf development
companies. If you have a chance, check
out their Continental Medical Plaza in
Murrieta – it’s beautiful and will really
add to the jobs base there.
We also feature in this issue the
success being enjoyed by iHerb.com,
an “e-tailing” company in Moreno
Valley that has doubled its footprint
in Riverside County within the past
year and is now occupying a site that
is more than seven times larger than
the facility they moved here from in
Irwindale. Their success has led to
employment for nearly 500 full-time
and part-time workers. The company is
a shining example of how you can really
makes sales explode by connecting to
an international customer base.
Finally, Corona-based Advanced
Graphic Technologies has produced
a product that promises to really
change the field of regulated medical
waste. Imagine trading in a product
that produces a big gloppy mess out of
medical waste for a product that takes
the same medical waste, but leaves
with what is essentially paper confetti.
And it creates this cleaner end product
through a process that uses only a small
fraction of the water that is needed to
process the same amount of medical
waste through conventional means. I
think you will agree that it is truly a
remarkable development.
