The County of Riverside provided $1,400,000 in HOME funds for the development and construction of an 80-unit low-income senior rental housing complex, intended for senior agricultural farm workers. The project, which was completed in July 2008, has a mix of 47 one-bedroom and 33 two-bedroom units. A total of 11 units are reserved for very low income tenants. Other funding sources include a tax credit equity contribution, a permanent loan, a loan from the City of Indio, a loan from the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Indio, as well as a loan from Housing and Community Development (HCD) Joe Serna Jr. Farm worker Housing Grant Program (JSJFWHG). |
