Recycling Market Development Zone Loans
The California Integrated Waste Management Board has created a low-interest revolving loan fund to provide direct loans to businesses that use post-consumer or secondary waste materials to manufacture new products. To be eligible to apply for a loan, the project must be located within the boundaries of a Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ).
Riverside County has one zone: Riverside County RMDZ. The loan proceeds available may be used for land acquisition, leasehold improvements, equipment purchases and working capital for up to 75 percent of the project cost with a maximum loan amount of $2 million. Interest rates are fixed for the term of the loan and are set by the Board of Supervisors semi-annually. For more information on current rates or to determine RMDZ boundaries, please contact an EDA Economic Development Representative at 800.984.1000.
