"College of Foreign Trade" A Huge Success...

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors and the Economic Development Agency Office of Foreign Trade hosted the “Riverside County College of Foreign Trade” at the Riverside County Administration Center. The event is the first in a series of seminars focused around educating local business representatives and government officials about the procedures involved and benefits accrued from establishing or improving overseas trade practices in any of the four foreign trade zones located throughout Riverside County. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8978535.htm

In the past year the County Office of Foreign Trade has assisted overseas firms with 2.4 billion in foreign direct investments, helped Wakunaga of America open its brand new production facility in Riverside County, secured the expansion of the FTZ from the City of San Diego into South west Riverside County, the expansion of the Northwestern county FTZ #244, and led the way for the Riverside based Flex Steel Company to join that newly expanded Zone.

Encouraging Canadian Foreign Capital Investment

With Canada already buying 44% of everything made in Riverside County, the Riverside County Office of Foreign Trade has helped Canadian investors focus on Riverside County as it is providing assistance to investors who purchased and are developing the Desert Dunes Golf Course in Desert Hot Springs. The housing project, projected for the golf course, will create foreign capital investment of over $200,000,000 and spur the creation of thousands of construction jobs. This investment has led to the development of a 2012 Pro-Am Golf Tournament and meeting with the C-100 (group of the top 100 wealthiest Canadians)

Assisting with the Grand Opening of Wakunaga of America

The Office of Foreign Trade assisted in helping Wakunaga of America open its new manufacturing plant in Mira Loma. The company will manufacture health products. The new 53,000 square foot multinational facility will create over 200 local jobs. The company is investing in Riverside County and is able to export to 40 plus nations from here and added a second production shift since opening.
