Chiriaco Summit Airport is located at the summit between the Coachella Valley and Desert Center in Riverside County, immediately adjacent to Interstate 10.

To the south of the airport are the Orocopia and Chocolate Mountains and the Salton Sea.

To the north are the San Bernardino Mountains, Joshua Tree National Park and Mojave Preserve, and Eagle Mountain. The topography is not only striking from the air but equally as interesting to explore by foot.
